Irish Cement has been fined EUR4000 for breaching terms of its industrial emissions licence, when thick “glue-like” dust spilled from its Co Limerick plant, resulting in damage to nearby homes, gardens and cars. Fiji's Pacific Cement Ltd, a subsidiary of Fijian Holdings Ltd based in Lami, has been issued a Stop Work Notice by the country’s Department of Environment. Duna-Dráva Cement completes plant renovation

Duna-Dráva Cement Kft has announced that a HUF7bn (US$26.12m) project to improve sustainability at its facility in Vác, Hungary, has been completed. Construction work took place between 2016-18, with the newly-renovated plant inaugurated on 18 May. The project has been successful in significantly reducing dust emissions, according to the Budapest Business Journal. A new filter system ensures that dust is contained, even in a malfunction or power outage.
